Tests Coming Up

Projects on the Go This Week

Because we don't have Spiralundi, a math quiz or a Spelling test this week, I have assigned 4 small projects to complete over the next week or two. The class will have sufficient time to complete these projects at school, provided they use their time wisely .  All projects are to be completed IN FRENCH.  Here are the details for you to discuss with your children. All projects will be shared with the class, and I hope to post some pictures here as well. Social Studies: Individual work; Free choice format; due Friday, November 4 Explain in detail why you are lucky to live in Canada. Give examples of advantages you have that you may not have in some other countries. It's what we do...

 Hi folks,  Just thought I'd let you know what we do each week, so you know where to focus your attention at home in the evenings and want to do school-y stuff. Mondays  Spiralundi. This is a quick 5 question math review quiz-like deal that checks on the retention of all concepts since the beginning of the year. We did our first one this week, and it looked a lot like last week's math quiz because, well, that's all we'd done so far.  Practice for the math quiz. Is exactly what it sounds like. I give them a practice quiz, we correct it together, and they keep it so they know a) what the quiz is going to look like, format-wise, and b) so they know where to focus their last-minute studying. Gym. Wear/bring appropriate attire. Skirts are not ideal on this day. Tuesdays Math quiz. Pro-tip, it's going to look a LOT like the practice quiz. 2022-2023 Week 0: Sept 6-9

Welcome back to school! We've hit the ground running, folks; here's what we've done this week. Tuesday: Where do we line up? Where is our class? Who are our teachers? (Library, music, little buddies, student support, counsellor, CYFSW...) What are the expectations in our class?  Wednesday: We wrote about ourselves We did notes about place value and position in math - quiz Sept 20th We looked at the present tense of être (to be), avoir (to have), and aller (to go) - pre-quiz Sept 16, quiz Sept 23 We started listening to the book Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullaly Hunt We talked about learning differently and how that makes us feel We made inferences (educated guesses based on what we've read, plus what we know from life) We learned that Janelle has ADHD, and so do a number of her students (who shall remain unnamed unless they choose to share that information themselves) - we watched a video called How To (Explain) ADHD We learned that we are welcome to share our own informa
